#wonderfulchaos

You know when the kids are yelling, the dog is barking, the dishes are piled up, and your husband asks you to do....one.more.thing? 🥴

Do you ever just take a deep breath and exhale 'overwhelm' and inhale what we call 'wonderful chaos?'

I'll never forget this one time my aunt called me, and she didn't have much time to talk, so she asked me, "In just a few words, how are things going?" And all I could think was, well.... things are wonderful and chaotic.... so I replied, "It's 'Wonderful Chaos'."

And funny enough, that phrase has kind of stuck. When I feel overwhelmed, I'm like, "Oh, I just love this 'Wonderful Chaos' we've created!" Lol.

If you struggle to find the patience to get through the day-- balancing marriage, kids, work, and (Lord help me) self care-- just remember, it is both wonderful and chaotic. We have a beautiful responsibility to set an example as a momma, as a daddy, as a husband, as a wife, to exude self control in the midst of being overwhelmed.

I will remind myself of this, and I ask that you do the same. I know that day to day can be so much. But if you are in the midst of raising babies, toddlers, teenagers, or a husband (I'm kidding!), just remember these words someone once told me: "these are the longest days, and the shortest years."

Lean into your faith, reach out to the Lord in prayer and refocus. Prioritize your responsibilities, and be ok with a few dirty dishes in the sink.

Family Strong Project Tip #001: Wake up 30 minutes early and do a devotion either by yourself or with your spouse. A moment with God will ALWAYS be worth it.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33
